Happy Volunteers´ Week everyone! This week we want to say a big thank you to everyone in the world who is taking out time to make our planet a better place: Happy volunteers´ week!Initially, the campaign was established in 1984 by Volunteering England. Today it is coordinated by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO). During this week, hundreds of events and celebrations are held all over the country to raise awareness and thank all the lovely people all around the world who volunteer and change the world every day one good deed at a time. Did you know that over 21 million people in the UK volunteer at least once a year? This makes a huge difference: from improving the environment people live in, over spending time with those in need because they are for example lonely, to helping out with essential services and support in general, there are plenty of things one can do to help to make the world we live in a better place.Volunteering writes the best stories: some people meet new friends for life, some meet maybe the love of their life, some find their destiny – but all have the opportunity to change and grow from their experiences while volunteering. So not only the people one is helping with the volunteering gain from one doing that, but actually, one oneself will gain not only new skills but also will give your self-esteem a boost like nothing else. And the best is that volunteering is for everyone! No matter if your background, race, education, socio-economic status, sexuality… everyone is welcome! If you are curious now, read more about the project here. And please share all your lovely volunteering stories with us in the comments, or on social media.to all the volunteers You can find us here: Instagram and Facebook
