10 things we can do while in isolation

We understand that staying home for this long can give cabin fever. It is a small sacrifice we make to stop this pandemic from getting worse. So, here are 10 things we think can keep your mind off the crisis happening and keep you occupied during this period in time.
1. Stay active: 
Now is the perfect time to focus on your health, for starters you can start working out by searching for exercises online, it doesn’t have to be something too out there, you can just start by doing some basic workouts, it will do you good both physically and mentally.
2. Experiment in the kitchen: 
Now is the time to experiment in the kitchen or finally learn to cook that dish you’ve been dying to try. You finally have to time now.
3. Take a breather: 
Due to our busy schedules, we rarely have the time for ourselves, in order to just chill and reflect on everything that’s been going on in our lives, meditation and self reflection is a perfect way to do that. You can just sit quietly in your room, maybe close your eyes and just try to connect with your inner self by staying calm and letting your mind wonder. It will spark peace and positivity in your mind, and you will become more aware of yourself and your environment. You can also try a few meditation apps such as “Calm” or “Headspace” both are available in IOS and Android.
4. Catch up on movies or TV shows you’ve missed: 
You can finally start the TV show you’ve been wanting to watch on Netflix, or you can also do a search on YouTube they have a bunch of free movies and shows. Maybe now is also an opportunity to try listening to podcasts. The opportunities are endless.
5. Take online classes: 
Learning online has never been easier as it is now, there is a lot of apps and websites that you can take a look at. A lot of universities and institutions are offering free online courses during this period. Websites such as “General Assembly” and “Khan Academy” which are completely free of charge.
6. Video chat with friends: 
It’s easy to feel lonely when you are quarantined. Schedule a quick video chat with friends so you still get to hangout online. You could also play online games such as Pictionary, even quiz each other in Kahoot, or watch a movie together with Netflix Party.
7. Spring clean: 
Now is the time to finally get that redecorating and cleaning in. Maybe you have been wanting to change your environment and move a few pieces of furniture, or do a DIY project to use for decoration. Redecorating can really help boost your mood and productivity, get creative, and start decluttering.
8. Read: 
Has it been awhile since you last read a book? Maybe now is the time to finally catch up on those books by your bedside, take the time in your day to finally catch up on your reading. You can even give new books a try.
9. Experiment with your look: 
Wanted to try something new before social distancing, and self isolation began? Maybe now is the time to experiment on your looks, have experience in cutting hair give it a try on yourself now. This skill can be lifesaving if developed correctly.
10. Journal:
Always wanted to give journaling a try? Writing and reflecting on what is happening now is a great way to keep memories that you would want to share with your future children, grandchildren, family or even friends. Keeping a journal gives you the opportunity to look back at what is happening now. Finally we understand if you are feeling overwhelmed with everything going on, it is okay to not feel productive somedays. As a human you also need to give yourself a chance to rest and recharge. Maybe this tips could help with relaxation and taking the time to just breath.
