AIESEC Birmingham operates from the University of Birmingham and is one of the most diverse societies on campus. Diversity comes in the form of our members, the experiences available and the positions of responsibility we offer. We pride our selves on our track record for innovation as well as developing leaders. We offer the university students the opportunity to become members of AIESEC (the society) and the opportunity to take part in our work abroad experiences.
In our membership we seek to activate leadership. We task students with the responsibility of running their own Exchange Scheme, allowing them to acquire valuable skills and impact society on both a local level through our unique Integrate Project and an international level through our Work Abroad Programmes.
Through our exchange schemes, participants build up their skills set, challenge their perceptions and network internationally.
“I want to thank you all so much for getting me to Istanbul and making this incredible experience possible! I have been here for exactly a week and I've done loads of sightseeing, loads of parties, and I'm starting work soon at a really fun language school. Istanbul is beautiful and the accommodation provided by AIESEC is clean, cheap, and full of exciting people!”
- Second year undergraduate in Istanbul
Our achievements have been reflected in being awarded Best Local Committee in the UK in 2009. Since 2008 we have sent 36 students abroad on international internships and are set to send 16 more abroad this summer.
