Leadership Fast Track
Welcome to Fast Track 2: Leadership. Congratulations, you have now entered the Leadership Role stage of your AIESEC Experience.
As one of AIESEC’s leaders, you are in a unique position of influence where you can make an enormous difference to the organisation and those around you. Whether you are entering an EB term, running an Exchange Project, on the NST or even starting the MC, you can use this booklet to frame and channel your development.
You will find the second Fast Track award less prescriptive than the first, and much more reliant upon your own ability to channel your development in a positive direction. You will see greater flexibility and choice, which reflects the vast range of experiences members go through during the leadership stage.
Self-reflection is a discipline that adds an enormous amount to personal success. Whether you use Fast Track as proof of your skills to future employers, as an explanation of AIESEC to friends and family, or as your own reminder of your progression, it is an invaluable opportunity to complement
your AIESEC Experience.
In order to complete Fast Track Two: Leadership you must select five skills to focus on during your Leadership Role stage. These should be challenging enough to drive your development. This level of the award, as with the first is most effective if run in conjunction with a mentoring relationship. Depending on what you feel comfortable with, you could form a mentoring relationship
with a peer, an EB member, third year member, Alumni or even an external. This time the onus is on you to form and maintain the relationship.
Why Complete The Award?
“I’m in the leadership stage, I’ve done Fast Track One; isn’t that enough?” That’s up to you. If you don’t want to do Fast Track Two: Leadership, nobody’s going to force you.
But consider, wouldn’t it be great to have a record of your development in the most challenging few years of your life?
Wouldn’t it be great to frame your experience in a way that challenges you and helps you make sense of it all? Wouldn’t it be great to be formally recognised for all that effort you’ve put into AIESEC?
