Naomi Kibble, Vice President of AIESEC Cardiff, 2007-2008
‘I joined AIESEC as a way to strengthen my university experience. It has broadened my network of friends and provided a practical element to my Business Management degree. Not only did I develop great friendships, but it gave me the opportunity to learn about different cultures and traditions.
In my second year, a role as Vice President of Talent Management provided me with tangible business experience. Not only did it enhance my skills such as team working, problem solving, and managing others, but it also gave me a real insight into the corporate world and allowed me to develop valuable connections with AIESEC partners and local businesses.
My time in AIESEC has also given me the opportunity to travel; Spending 9 weeks in Lithuania provided me with a greater skill-set to carry out my role and extended my AIESEC network outside of the UK. The development traineeship which I did in Kenya is one of the best experiences of my life. It developed me as a person and made me value the life I have in the UK.
Looking back, when I started 3 years ago I could never have envisaged all the things I have achieved, the huge amount of friendships I have formed and the opportunities and doors which AIESEC has opened. Being part of AIESEC has enhanced my university experience 100% and it has been the stepping stone to my future career and aspirations. I can honestly say, my AIESEC experience has shaped the last 3 years of my life and will stay with me forever.’
