What does AIESEC stands for?

"AIESEC" was formerly a French acronym for "Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales”, which translates to: International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences. Today, we no longer use this name as our membership has grown to encompass a much wider range of disciplines than only economics and commerce – we are simply AIESEC.

What is AIESEC?

As an international student organization, AIESEC promotes global understanding through international exchange. By attending conferences and participating in the everyday tasks of the local and National level, our students have the opportunity to develop their professional skills and develop an international perspective while making many memorable friends and memories. In short, AIESEC is the international platform for youth to explore and develop their leadership capabilities.

What is the AIESEC Experience?

AIESEC offers youth-driven impactful experience to our members. There are four programmes offered under AIESEC UK Experience namely Join to Lead, GoGlobal for summer and GoGlobal to kickstart you career. If you are interested in developing your leadership skills, learning more about AIESEC as an organization, and experiencing growth in your personal and professional skills, you may be more interested in the Join to Lead programme. If you are interested in going on an internship check out the student's page/goglobal.

i am not a Business student. Can I still get involved?

Definitely! AIESEC UK is made up of a pool of talented multi-disciplinary students. In fact, there are opportunities available to students from any faculty.

I keep hearing about conferences, what are they all about?

Conferences are special opportunities for members to network with each other and with leaders in the corporate community. Conference delegates learn about relevant issues to increase their global awareness, gain in-depth leadership, and receive AIESEC-specific training.
